DAMM supplies safe TETRA communication for DONG Energy Power Plants

 

DAMM has been awarded the contract to supply the TetraFlex® communication network solution for 11 DONG Energy Power Plants across Denmark.

 

DONG Energy is one of the leading energy groups in Northern Europe. With the TetraFlex® solution from DAMM, DONG Energy has achieved a high level of safety for their workers with the Lone-worker application, such as: emergency key, man-down facility and dispatch of alarms. Efficient follow-me real-time alarm handling has further contributed to optimization of resources for the Power Plant alarm handling.

 

With a TetraFlex® solution, DONG Energy has achieved full communication coverage over the whole Power Plant. Full coverage is achieved even in places where coverage would normally not be expected, like indoor environments with many steel and concrete constructions as well as very noisy environments.

  

Dong Energy also decided on Zoniths' Alarm Control System solutions for a number of their power plants. Not only does this make the plants safer for the employees, the plants also become more efficient work place through automated alarm dispatch.

 

René Fritzen, project manager at DONG Energy, points out that the Zonith solution ensures that the "lone workers" feel protected at work, no matter how isolated they are in their physical environment.
