Southern Cross University Lismore first university to install TETRA.

One of New South Wales largest regional universities, Southern Cross University, Lismore campus, have replaced their ailing analogue radio system with a digital TETRA system from Damm Cellular Systems using TetraFlex® infrastructure and Sepura SRH3800 terminal units.

The Universities requirements were to maintain group call dispatch services whilst introducing new security enhancement features such as emergency group calls, private radio to radio calls, full duplex private telephony calls and future alarm text messaging capabilities. These features must also be packaged into a single light weight but ruggedised handset. All these requirements have been accomplished with TETRA.
