First Australian TETRA Deployment in Iron Ore Mining for DAMM TetraFlex^®

Karara Mining is to deploy a Multi-site DAMM TetraFlex^® network consisting of redundant dual carrier base sites integrated into on-site UHF analogue construction channels. TetraFlex^® will also provide an IP based Dispatcher system and a Call Records Database complete with statistics and voice recording.

Sepura mobile and portable terminals are to be supplied for mine staff with embedded GPS location to provide a safer working environment.

The Karara Iron Ore Project involves an integrated development of the world-class magnetite deposit at Karara, located 225km east of Geraldton. The mine will produce both high grade magnetite concentrate on site and blast furnace quality pellets in north-eastern China. Karara is a world-class ore body in terms of its scale, quality, consistency and extremely low waste ore stripping ratio.
