Rio Tinto continues to deploy DAMM TetraFlex^®

Rio Tinto Iron Ore in Western Australia has commissioned DAMM TetraFlex^® TETRA infrastructure to provide a secure and mobile working environment for staff at their Operational Centre (ROC) in Perth.

TetraFlex^® directly interfaces with the ROC’s Dispatch Consoles via GMG Solutions API Gateway application to provide seamless communications between the Dispatch Operator and on-site TETRA portables. The Omnitronics DX64 Dispatch Consoles are linked to Rio Tinto’s remote mine and rail sites via a dedicated IP network and analogue gateways.

The STP8000 Series Terminals from Sepura where chosen as the preferred TETRA terminal for this project, as the radio offered a rugged yet light weight handset that is versatile, has flexible programming capabilities and is easy to operate.
